Over the past week, 30 Yeshivos across America held a special kinus to launch their personal preparations, as well as a worldwide matanos initiative for the Rebbe’s 120th birthday. After playing an exclusive film produced for these Kinusim, the Bochurim were addressed by their Mashpi’im and Hanhola members on the importance of preparing a gift appropriate for Yud-Aleph Nissan, especially as we celebrate the 120 Years milestone.

One Mashpia spoke about an answer of the Rebbe featured recently in the weekly Mein Tog publication:

The Rebbe’s Mazkir Rabbi Binyomin Klein once wrote to the Rebbe about a group of Talmidim Hashluchim who were scheduled to fly to Australia shortly before Yud-Aleph Nissan.

The Rebbe responded:

"מהו הטעם והגעשמאק שיסעו מכאן ימים אחדים לפני יא ניסן?"

“What is the reason and pleasure to travel from here a few days before Yud-Aleph Nissan?”

The Mashpia went on to explain the importance of being by the Rebbe for Yud-Aleph Nissan, as well as the Rebbe’s appreciation for Chassidim who would travel to be with him for these special days.

The Talmidim Hashluchim in each Yeshiva explained to the Bochurim how they can qualify to receive money towards their flights to the Rebbe for Yud-Aleph Nissan and announced the program that will take place in New York for the week leading up to this special day.

In addition to the personal Matanos from each individual Bochur, many Yeshivos are coming together with collective Matanos in Limud HaTorah between both the Bochurim and the Hanhola.

“Although I always heard from Mashpi’im and teachers about the importance of presenting the Rebbe a personal gift for Yud-Aleph Nissan, it was not until this year that I really understood and appreciated this idea.” related S.D. of the Brazil Mesivta, “I am very excited to celebrate Yud-Aleph Nissan in New York for the first time,” he finished.

The Matanos promo video titled “What can I do for 11 Nissan - 120 Years?” featuring Rabbi’s Sholom Dovid Geisinsky, Shmuly Avtzon, Mendy Mochkin and Rabbi Mendel Wolosow, taught the Bochurim what it means to give the Rebbe a gift, what types of gifts the Rebbe wants from us, and the importance of spending this day in the Rebbe’s presence.

New System will provide beds for Shabbos at the Ohel

The Vaad Hatmimim together with Ohel Chabad Lubavitch is pleased to announce a new texting system which will enable Bochurim to reserve a bed by the Rebbe’s Ohel for Shabbos.

With hundreds of Bochurim traveling from near and far to spend Shabbos by the Rebbe every single week, this service will allow them to travel in peace and focus on the true reason for their visit, knowing that a comfortable bed awaits them

The system is simple and easy, with one word you can be guaranteed a bed in minutes. Sign up by texting “Hi” to +1-347-704-0537, after answering a few basic questions, all you will need to do is text the word “RESERVE” to reserve your bed at the Ohel.

In recent days Chabad institutions and communities world-wide have seen an added excitement as Chassidim prepare for the Rebbe's approaching 120th birthday on Yud-Aleph Nissan. From individual gifts to communal establishments, Chassidim of all ages and backgrounds are preparing an appropriate gift.

In the past few weeks, the Vaad Hatmimim and A Chassidisher Derher magazine have begun publishing a weekly dose of bite-sized sichos, stories and anecdotes relating to some central Yud-Aleph Nissan themes, including giving the Rebbe a "Matana" (a gift), traveling to New York to spend Yud-Aleph Nissan in the Rebbe's presence, the inner meaning of the Rebbe's birthday and more.

The aim of this publication is to answer the burning question that Chassidim are no doubt asking themselves: “How can I properly prepare myself for Yud-Aleph Nissan, a day the Rebbe referred to as ‘my day’ - ‘Meiner A Tog’?”

The publication has been printed in American Yeshivos and distributed in Crown Heights shuls in recent weeks, and will continue to appear until Yud-Aleph Nissan.

Bochurim's Matanos will earn them flights for Yud Aleph Nissan

In preparation for Yud Aleph Nissan - 120 Years, Vaad Hatmimim launched an exciting new initiative that will encourage Bochurim to prepare and celebrate Yud Alef Nissan in a personal way.

Together with their Mashpia each Bochur will take on a personal Matono in Limud Hatorah that will challenge him on his own level. This will ensure that every Bochur will come to Yud Aleph Nissan with a Matono that he truly worked for, befitting such a milestone.

In a zoom meeting with the program directors, Mashpi'im from many Yeshivos shared ideas on how they can implement this important project in their Yeshivos.

The Bochurim that decide on a Matono with their Mashpia and get tested on their commitment will receive money towards their flight to the Rebbe for Yud Aleph Nissan and will be invited to partake in a special week-long Hachana program in New York before Yud Aleph Nissan.

This Sunday, each Yeshivah will be holding a Kinus Hisoirerus featuring a special video presentation where the Mashpi'im will discuss this new program and encourage Bochurim to join.

In addition to this, the Vaad Hatmimim is sending out weekly and monthly publications on the theme of Yud Aleph Nissan Matanos that will encourage more Bochurim to partake in this special opportunity.

"Tomorrow is 'my day' ('Meiner A Tog')..."

These are the Rebbe's words regarding his seventieth birthday, Yud Alef Nissan 5732.

As we approach Yud Alef Nissan, the Rebbe's 120th birthday, Bochurim are no doubt asking themselves: how can I prepare for the Rebbe's day of Yud-Aleph Nissan in this milestone year?

It is this question that we hope to address with the launch of the new weekly publication: מיין טאג. Every week, the publication will be centered on one theme of Yud-Aleph Nissan, and will feature small snippets, pictures and anecdotes related to the theme.

Talmidim Hashluchim Gifted with New Sefer

Over the week of Yud Shevat, Talmidim Hashluchim who came to spend the day of Yud Shevat by the Rebbe along with their Yeshivos, were gifted the newly printed 'Sefer Yalkut Levi Yitzchak - Michtavei Hachasuna,' Compiled by Rabbi Dovid Dubov, Shliach to Princeton, New Jersey, and author of the “Yalkut Levi Yitzchok al HaTorah” series.

“Yalkut Levi Yitzchok – Michtavei HaChasunah” includes insights and Pirushim that R’ Levi Yitzchok wrote in his correspondence with the Rebbe before his upcoming Chasunah on Yud Daled Kislev 5689, and beyond it.

It also is the beginning of their correspondence spanning many years (which appears in “Likkutei Levi Yitzchok – Igros Kodesh”, and some of which has subsequently appeared in the Rebbe’s “Reshimos” and other sources), as the Rebbe left Russia after Simchas Torah of 5688, and unfortunately never saw his father afterward.

Some of the Talmidim Hashluchim already received the gift at the beginning of the Yeshivah year before they embarked on their Shlichus at the annual Kinus Talmidim Hashluchim.

The gift was made possible by an anonymous donor in appreciation for all the hard work that the Talmidim Hashluchim do throughout the year in their respective Yeshivos.
